Our First Step Towards the "New Normal"
for S.Y. 2022-2023

The Metropolitan International Christian Academy (MICA) recently held a survey among its stakeholders –  parents/guardians, students, teachers and staff – regarding the conduct of a face-to-face Recognition and Closing Program for School Year 2021-2022. Results showed an overwhelming majority of the parents/guardians and students would like to attend and experience a FACE-TO-FACE or an ON SITE Recognition and Closing Program.

Since the entire National Capital Region has already been placed under Alert Level 1 Category by the IATF since 1 March 2022, most parents/guardians believe that it is now safe, appropriate, and very much beneficial to physically witness an annual program that both students and parents look forward to, particularly after two consecutive academic years of conducting virtual programs only.  As such, the school administration and faculty decided to hold a face-to-face Recognition and Closing Program as its culminating activity for School Year 2021-2022.

Participation in this activity is purely voluntary. You or your child may decline to participate, or to withdraw your participation for any reason at all. Declining or withdrawing your participation will not result to any penalty, loss of benefits or reduction of any basic right to which your child is entitled. In case you or your child decided not to attend the program in person, but opt to attend the ceremony online via Zoom, please notify your child’s class adviser.

Effectivity of the Individualized Curriculum during the time of pandemic

New Normal

has been SOT Philippines' NORMAL.

The conventional way of doing things drastically gives way to another mode, thanks to the advancing computer technology and the Internet. Soon, the days of chalk-and-black board lessons, bulky books and crowded classrooms will be all gone.

The emergence of the Covid19 virus caught the world unaware and has quickly caused the shift to alternative modes of human interaction, including the basic modes of teaching and learning.

Educators and key players in the Philippine educational system must transition into the "new normal" set by the government and the Department of Education in compliance to health protocols of the still uncontained global pandemic.

Thankfully, the School of Tomorrow© system, for more than 4 decades now has been providing individualized, independent learning at the core of its curriculum using bite-sized modules called PACES that could be done right at the safety of the learner's home. With technology on one hand and the full support and guidance of the parents on the other, the Metropolitan International Christian Academy provides the strong fulcrum to realize the underlying learning principles of this unique mastery-based, Bible-centered quality education that every Filipino child deserves to have. Firmly believing that early training makes the big difference in a child's life (Proverbs 22:6), MICA also aims to touch the lives of our nation's future leaders, ONE CHILD AT A TIME.
